Taking Compassion to Street Corners

Matthew 25:35-40 makes mention of various ways in which we can help others, and in so doing, service Christ.  The ways listed are small, and do not take a lot of effort: a cup of water, a hot meal, an article of clothing--simple gifts.

Traveling Mercies takes this approach of simple gifts and implements it through the distribution of gLove Box gifts, Ziploc bags that contain items such as a paperback Bible, food cards, bus passes and more.  We can't do this on our own, however.  We need YOU!  Each week, inside the bulletin, 3rd Service has committed to having a needed item card.  All that we ask is that you be willing to donate the item listed on the card.  Bins will be located in the foyer and church office for the collection of those items.  If you cannot supply an item there will be afternoons set aside for the assembly of the gLove Box gifts.  Please consider participating in those when they arise.   You may call the PVCC office for items needed.

Also, and most important, we ask that you will be willing to carry a gLove Box gift with you in your vehicle and be willing to hand it out to the homeless you see along the way to wherever it is you're heading.
